Teaching Therapy is proud to share that the Rooted in Resilience curriculum has been formally approved for use throughout School District U-46. This approval reflects the district’s commitment to student well-being and ensures that the curriculum aligns with educational standards, ethical practices, and the social-emotional needs of students.
Through this partnership, Teaching Therapy is able to collaborate directly with schools to provide preventative mental health education that supports students before challenges arise. The approval allows Rooted in Resilience to be implemented across school sites, expanding access to evidence-based, developmentally appropriate programming for students and families throughout the district.
Together with School District U-46, we are working to strengthen emotional skills, resilience, and connection — building healthier classrooms and more supported communities.
Throughout the 10-week program, students participated in art-infused, preventative mental health lessons focused on emotional awareness, regulation skills, communication, and confidence-building. The pilot concluded with a student art showcase, welcoming a full house of parents, caregivers, community partners, teachers, and school staff. The art show served as a powerful culmination of learning — allowing students to share their growth, reflect on their emotional journeys, and demonstrate the skills they practiced throughout the program. The strong turnout highlighted the importance of early mental health education and reinforced the value of community-centered prevention efforts. This pilot not only supported student well-being but also strengthened school–family partnerships and laid the foundation for continued programming across School District U-46.
